Lady Antebellum- Our Kind of Vegas (Last Shows)

Lady Antebellum was one of the first big country shows I ever attended. It was their Own the Night Tour and I just happened to be on the East Coast in Florida the night of their show in Jacksonville. It was one of the best shows I’ve seen to date (and I’ve seen a lot of shows) and is still one of my favorite concert memories (even though we were literally in the nosebleeds). Actually, it’s safe to say that most of my favorite concert memories have been from one Lady A show or another- from answering random band trivia questions in Salt Lake City (Charles could only remember the…

Chris Lane at the House of Blues Las Vegas

You guys know how much I love a good country show! When Chris Lane told me back in July that he would be back in October, I scrapped all my plans for the anticipated weekend because there was no way I was missing that show! The House of Blues is undoubtedly one of my absolute favorite venues in Las Vegas. Not only has it stood the test of time where so many other venues have closed or changed, it’s just an all around great place. The sound is always great, the staff is friendly and helpful, and there is not a single bad seat in the house. This round was…

    Solo Birthday Part 01

So as always, NFR was in town last month and of course, it’s my favorite time of the year. In addition to rodeo, it’s my birthday! There are always so many great shows during or before my birthday and this year was no exception. Unfortunately, I didn’t get out too much because I was so busy with work; however, I made sure to book at least one really fun night out for myself. I don’t have that many friends who are super crazy about country music so I’ve gotten used to going to shows alone. Besides, I’d rather go alone than miss out! The Orleans was hosting Cam and Kelsea…

    Vegas Staycation & Carrie Underwood

Hey blog world! So it’s been a little while since I posted and that’s because things have been crazy here. Lots of changes and with the holidays it was just easier to hold off on posting rather than just ramble nonsense for a month. After Thanksgiving my mom and I got to have a little vegas staycation. We wanted to see Carrie Underwood and since room rates are pretty good between Thanksgiving and NFR, we decided to take advantage of the affordable prices and make a night of it. We got a room at the Monte Carlo for pretty cheap and it is literally right next to the arena. We…

    NFR 2015- The Cadillac Three

If you’ve been following my blog for a little while, you probably know-  I’m a pretty big fan of The Cadillac Three.  I met these guys in November 2014 on the Florida Georgia Line Cruise and they are not only really really talented guys, they’re super nice and down to earth too. I headed to this show solo as (what was supposed to be) my final NFR show and a pre-birthday hurrah. I managed to get a pretty awesome spot right in front (even though it was by an amp). The show was amazing as usual and since it was the last show of the year, the guys brought a…

    NFR 2015- Toys for Tickets

Toys for Tickets is one of my favorite events of the year. Not only is it for a great cause (the radio stations together collect tens of thousands of dollars worth of toys every holiday season), but they always put on an amazing show with some of the best artists. This year was no exception. I went with Becca, my usual country show partner in crime. They started with Mickey Guyton and Cam. There was Canaan Smith and Eric Paslay. Old Dominion, one of my absolute FAVES. And Tyler Farr and Jerrod Niemann. And the group Christmas song finale!

    NFR 2015- Sam Hunt

When this show was first announced, I thought I’d have plenty of time to decide if I wanted to go. That was really dumb. We managed to get tickets at the last minute that weren’t TOO insanely overpriced, but when I mentioned to my mother that I was going to go, she quietly said “I want to go too”. LOL We grabbed dinner at DOCG Enoteca inside Cosmopolitan. This stuff is unbelievably delicious. Like OMG. So yummy. We had standing room seats on the balcony and they were comfortable and not cramped. We had a great view of the whole stage and looking down at that floor, I would have…

    FGL Cruise Part 02

To start on a completely unrelated note- Today I turn 30!!!  It’s also NFR time here in Vegas so there will be all kinds of crazy country music/birthday posts coming on in the next few weeks! I’m trying to go hard on birthday stuff this year since it’s a milestone; however, I realize my energy level isn’t what it is a year ago so… Kind of old ladying it up a bit… Happy 30 to me. LOL Anyhow, on to the cruise day 2! This cruise was very different from the previous one. Part of the reason would be because I had a horrible sinus infection and just did not…

    NFR Part 8

My last night out for NFR was actually my birthday (yay). My friend Michelle and I went to Cleo at the SLS Hotel to grab dinner first since I had a $30 birthday comp (gotta love those Vegas comps).  The food was delicious. We had hummus. Some clam pasta. The most amazing lamb and couscous. Saffron rice as a side. And this adorable dessert platter. Afterwards, we headed to The Las Vegas Bull for the Lucy Hale show.      The show was wonderful and I even got a sweet happy birthday from Lucy after the show. Great birthday!

    NFR Part 7

By my 7th night, I was really starting to love the set-up at MGM. The stage was awesome, the bars were convenient, and most people left after the NFR viewing was done and the shows weren’t insanely crowded.  On this particular night, it was the first show this round for the Swon Brothers. I had gotten lucky and ran into the guys before the show so I got to chat with them for a few minutes. The show was awesome. I had never watched The Voice but I had seen them at the Toys For Tickets show a few nights before and they were great there too!
