    Break-Ups, Dating, Blogs

It’s been a weird month. After what I thought was the worst break-up ever, I realized, it was the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Not only am I no longer attached to someone shady and dishonest, I have freedom to do whatever I want again. I don’t have to subconsciously wonder how my decisions impact his life. I don’t have to wonder if he’s lying to me. I don’t have to care at all. And it’s amazing.  After a few weeks of feeling like I was run through a wood chipper, I woke up this week feeling almost blissfully happy every morning. I let myself be the unstable…

Travel Tips- the Good, the Bad, and the Stupid

I travel a lot. That’s no secret. I don’t think I’m any kind of expert and I’m constantly looking for new tips and tricks to make things easier/faster/cheaper. It’s a work in progress! Here is an assortment of tips I’ve come up with, tips I’ve heard, and things I just think are stupid. I usually book with Expedia. A number of rewards companies have Expedia portals so you can earn points for them AND earn Expedia points. They do all kinds of promotions, especially if you book on the app. The majority of the points you earn will be for packages or hotels, flights earn very few BUT you still…

A Few Things About Your Bridal Consultant

I sold wedding gowns for two years.  During that time I “sold dreams”, dealt with crazy bridezillas and even crazier wedding parties, and learned way more than I ever needed to know about bridal undergarments. I’ve seen all kinds of brides and even had repeat business (which was a bit odd).  If you’re getting married, here are a few things to know about your bridal consultant: We don’t want you to look fat or ugly. We really don’t. Well, not most of us. We will usually do everything we can to avoid having you pick the dress that makes you look hideous.  Unless it’s Kleinfeld’s or somewhere super upscale, we…

    My Weirdest Jobs

I’m not a serial worker.  I haven’t had a million jobs… yet. I think I’ve only had about seven. Even so, while some were pretty run of the mill (waiting tables, cashiering, etc), some were a bit more… interesting.  Star Lounge Probably my fave work experience ever (not really a job more like temporary event internship work). Back in 2007, the MTV Video Music Awards came to Vegas and along with it brought their slew of pre-show and post-show events, gifting suites, and craziness. I’d been e-mailed a volunteer internship opportunity from UNLV and interviewed for a spot and was super happy when I got it. I spent the weekend…

    Pre Vacation Beauty

You guys know how rarely I post about beauty products. I love my beauty products. I really do. But I don’t pretend to be an expert on anything. That said, before any trip, I always love to play around with whatever new products I got for the trip. You know, so I don’t end up looking like a clown in all my vacation photos. 🙂 I’ve been a huge fan of Benefit’s They’re Real mascara for a while. With my sad stubby Asian lashes, this is one of the only mascaras that has ever been able to give them much lift or length. When the new liner and eye make-up…

My ATL Bucket List & Budget

As you may have figured by now, my next adventure is: ATLANTA I am so excited about this trip. I haven’t been back home since 2012.  I have some really great friends still living in Georgia that I am really excited to see and this time I get to play tourist with a real actual brand new ATL tourist! Yay!!! I’ve also enlisted one of my fave bloggers, Ashleigh, to do an Atlanta related guest post.I can’t wait to read it! It’s a short trip but here is our trip bucket list: 1. Braves game. I have only once been to a game at Turner Field. My first Braves game…

    Lisa’s Bachelorette

So I spent a good portion of my weekend helping set-up, shop, bake for Lisa’s bachelorette party. We had a fun night out at Chippendales and there’s something smugly fun about being a comped guest in the producer’s reserved seats. Silly I know, but VIP treatment is always a smug yet satisfying thing. It was nice to see some of the guys; since most of my friends with the company left for Men of the Strip, I don’t see much of the guys who are left anymore.  What do you guys think of the sash? I made it for the bride myself. 🙂 Oh, along with the bra and thong…
